ABOUT ME

I have been working primarily with children, adolescents and young adults since 2011. I have a total of twelve years combined experience working in the field of mental health, nine of these are post Graduate School.

Educationally I have an Advanced Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in psychology which I earned at the University of Manitoba, Canada, a Bachelor of Science in Social Work Degree and a Master of Social Work Degree both of which I earned at the University of North Dakota. I have completed an Intensive DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) Program through NACHAS Consulting in Brooklyn, NY and have formal training in Psychoanalysis through the William James College as well as formal training in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).

My philosophy to therapy is that goals are met and behavior change is created through the combination of an open and honest relationship with your therapist, development of new skills and increased insight into problems. I work hard to create an environment where clients can feel safe, have the ability to be open and honest and feel supported while they work through what is often a difficult part of life. Should you choose me to be your therapist we will begin with an evaluation so I can understand who you are, what are the problem areas in your life and what are the skills and strengths you already have. Our next steps will include goal setting and building our relationship. We will continue to work together on these goals, creating new skills and enhancing your strengths. There is no timeline on therapy and I will continue to work with you until you reach your goals. If you have any questions or would like to know more about my approach and services, please do not hesitate to give me a call at 701-799-5176 or send me an email through my contact page.
